Coronavirus: ‘Mulan,’ ‘Quiet Place II,’ ‘Fast & Furious’ movie releases postponed

Yifei Liu stars in the live-action remake of “Mulan.” | Disney

Disney’s live-action remake of “Mulan,” which was supposed to hit theaters March 27, is now moving back to an unspecified date, a studio source said Thursday.

Also being pushed down the Disney calendar are Marvel’s “New Mutants,” which was previously set for April 3, and the horror flick “Antlers,” originally dated for April 17.

The studio will announce new dates for a 2020 release later.

Disney moved forward with a Hollywood world premiere Monday and held a scaled-down premiere for “Mulan” in London on Thursday.

Director John Krasinski announced Thursday that “A Quiet Place: Part II,” the sequel to his 2018 horror hit “A Quiet Place,” would be postponed “due to the ever-changing circumstances of what’s going on in the world around us.” He did not share a new release date.

“As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie... I’m gonna wait to release the film til we CAN all see it together,” he wrote in a tweet. ”So here’s to our group movie date! See you soon!”

And the ninth “Fast and Furious” installment release date is moving from May 2020 to April 2021.

”We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga. That’s why it’s especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film,” read a statement on the official @TheFastSaga account. “While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this movie is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration.”
