Coronavirus: Morrisons' 'loophole' for shoppers who can't get delivery slots

Many of us are struggling to get a full food delivery at the moment as shoppers continue to panic-buy.

Some customers who have made an online food shop lately will have seen several items missing or substituted amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, one leading supermarket has launched an initiative which helps customers get essential items delivered to them.

Shoppers at Morrisons can pay one single price for a box full of shopping, though you won't get to choose what's inside, Manchester Evening News reports.

The contents of the boxes are completely random, but the supermarket has promised that they are full of the essentials you'll need.

There are two different types of boxes available in the food box initiative - one for meat eaters, and one for vegetarians.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there are boxes available for those who are gluten free or vegan just yet.

Both the vegetarian and the meat-eaters box are priced at £35, and contain a range of mixed goodies.

Inside the meat eaters box you'll find: "A selection of food including fresh meat, plus essential household items.

Inside the vegetarian box you'll find: "A selection of food suitable for vegetarians, plus essential household items."

If you want to order one of the boxes, you'll need to create an account on the Morrisons website by entering your name, email address and a password. Or, if you already have a Morrisons online account, you can use your existing details using the ‘log-in’ button.

You’ll then need to tell  Morrisons  which type of box you would like, either Meat or Vegetarian, you can order up to two boxes per order. You can select a delivery date that suits you - Morrisons says it can deliver the next day If you order before 3pm, but at the moment be aware that delivery times could vary.

Your food box will be delivered by DPD who will send you a confirmation including a tracking number, so you can keep up to date with your delivery.
