Coronavirus: Mile long queues around B&Q car park and hours waiting after Liffey Valley and other hardware stores reopen

This astonishing footage shows a mile long queue outside a DIY store in Liffey Valley as it reopened for the first time since the lockdown began months ago.

Hundreds of people are seen lining up outside in the wind and rain at the entrance whilst maintaining social distancing rules at the B&Q store.

The videos, that have been making the rounds on social media today, show the giant queue snaking through the car park as eager shoppers wait for their turn to enter the DIY outlet.

Thousands have returned to work as lockdown restrictions have eased to allow the reopening of retail stores, public spaces, sports facilities as part of Phase One.

Garden centres, hardware stores and optometrists as well as golf clubs and tennis courts are back in action.

Many places are only allowing a certain number of people at one time to follow social distancing guidelines.
