Coronavirus: Michelle Heaton shows off parenting duties at home in self-isolation

Michelle Heaton has showed off what she's getting up to in self-isolation after announcing one of their neighbours tested positive for the coronavirus.

The 40-year-old singer shared a statement with fans on Instagram on Monday, revealing she and her family will stay home for a few days .

And it looks like the mum-of-two is enjoying being away from the outside world, and appears to be spending extra-quality time with her kids.

Michelle told fans she is staying home as a precautionary measure and insisted that she, her husband Hugh Hanley, and both their children are symptom-free.

Michelle seemed to be in good spirits as she posted on her Story, showing off daughter Faith, eight, and son AJ, five, playing games together in the living room.

She posted a funny video of Faith and AJ playing musical statues, and they were dancing to J-Lo's On The Floor, with Michelle commentating in the background.

They began jumping around and being silly, before the former Liberty-X star told her children: "You are misunderstanding the concept of musical statues, you're supposed to be still when the music goes off."

After a tiring game of dancing, Michelle filmed her kids painting together, and joked: "Clearly I was supposed to be an artist in a former life. I've just discovered how to make orange, and green and purple."

But Faith was quick to tell her mum: "Mummy, you know everyone knows how to make purple."

While Michelle responded: "Sorry Faith, I forgot - I'm old!"

It comes after the star shared a long post to her 226,000 followers, explaining that they had decided to go into "house isolation" after "much deliberation".

The former singer posted the announcement on her Instagram Story (Instagram)

She wrote: "We do not have any symptoms… kids, me and Hugh have been told to go about our normal daily life, unless we show symptoms!"

"That's the advice and what's been explained to us from the authorities. However, for those at school with our children, we are keeping Faith and AJ, and myself on 'house isolation' after much deliberation," she continued.

"Just for a few days even though, again, we have NO symptoms [at the moment]! And have NOT been in contact with the confirmed. I know some of you will be like 'omg she’s dramatic' take it as you wish…we are just as worried as everyone."

Six people in the UK have died from the deadly virus, which is caused by respiratory problems.

A total of 373 cases were announced today, a rise of 54 from the previous day.
