Coronavirus: Mexico national team cancel international fixtures against Czech Republic and Greece in March

The Mexico national side have become the latest to cancel their football fixtures during the March international break.

El Tri were due to play against Czech Republic on March 27 and Greece on March 30, with both games taking place in the United States.

However, the national federation have called off the games, citing ”public health and safety concerns” amid the ongoing spread of coronavirus.

Multiple leagues and sports across the world have cancelled events, tournaments or fixtures over the coming weeks.

While MLS has imposed a suspension of games for the next 30 days, the top-flight league in Mexico, the Liga MX, is still ongoing at present with certain protocols currently implemented including the suspension of pre-game handshakes.
