A mass coronavirus vaccination centre has opened in Falkirk with over 1,000 jabs being given everyday.
The site at Forth Valley College will firstly priorities those aged 70-79.
Two larger hubs also opened in Edinburgh and Aberdeen today, as the Scottish Government aims to vaccinate all those who are most vulnerable by mid-February.
Hilary Warkentin is a Senior Staff Nurse with the immunisation team at NHS Forth Valley, she said: "It's really important we get as many people as possible vaccinated as quickly as we can."
"The site here at Forth Valley College starts the local vaccination programme for people in their 70s and we'll be administering around 1,000 jabs everyday."
"Falkirk is just one of a number of sites to open in the Forth Valley, with this one being the biggest."
"A lot of hard work has been taking place over the past few weeks to get this hub ready."
It comes after a surge in coronavirus cases in the Falkirk area over the past few weeks, with referrals to Forth Valley Royal Hospital doubling since the first wave last March.
Staff there think it's a combination of family gatherings at Christmas, people ignoring guidelines and the new rapidly-spreading variant is behind the rise.
Last week, a temporary coronavirus testing centre opened at Grangemouth Sports Complex in a bid to curb infections in the area.
