Coronavirus mask making segment leaves Phillip Schofield with 'knickers on his face'

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby had some hilarious results while making face masks on today's This Morning.

Georgina Burnett showed the presenters how to make their own protective face gear amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Georgina explained that they needed at least two layers to give proper protection and showed them various different techniques.

One involved using a cut up t-shirt to put over your mouth - but it looked like Holly and Phillip were putting underwear across their faces.

Giggling Holly joked: "If you're done with this as a mask, after lockdown you can use them as a bikini on your summer holiday."

Phillip did not look very comfortable as he put the flimsy material over his face after struggling to work out how to put it on appropriately.

Holding the mask to the camera, Holly told her co-host: "You look like you have a pair of knickers on your face."

Things didn't get much better when he put a tea towel completely over his face and could not see anything.

"Well this gives me really good coverage," joked Phillip.

This came after Holly struggled to get the first mask over hear ears and messed up her lipstick.

Georgina used a napkin to fold up a few layers and then attached rubber bands, but Holly could not keep the mask attached to her face.

The presenter said: "This will make my lipstick go all over the place. I can’t get it on. My ears aren’t big enough. If you’ve got soft ears they’re not sturdy enough."

Outraged Phil replied: "Are you saying I’ve got big ears?"

This Morning viewers took to Twitter after watching Phil and Holly putting their masks on.

One fan said: "I can’t deal with Phil on this morning ahaha, the face masks is just pure funny"

"That wasn’t weird at all! Got different kind of mask vibes from this one," added another.
