A protective face mask has appeared on the iconic Greyfriars Bobby statue in Edinburgh.
The statue, opposite the national museum of Scotland on George IV bridge, is a much-loved tourist attraction for visitors from both Scotland and abroad.
Social media users pointed out the mask could actually have a purpose.
Many rub the wee dogs nose for good luck, and coronavirus germs could easily be transferred if they then touch their face.
Scientists think the virus could live on surfaces for at least a day, so the official advice is to wash your hands after touching surfaces.
Hopefully the mask will discourage unsuspecting tourists from taking part.
