Uefa has announced that Manchester City’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Real Madrid will not go ahead as planned on 17 March.

The same applies to the round-of-16 second leg between Juventus and Lyon, which was scheduled for the same date.

The game’s governing body have already announced they will hold a meeting with relevant stakeholders on Tuesday next week.

At present, no new date has been set for the Champions League second leg fixtures, with the squads of Real Madrid and Juventus currently in quarantine.

Man City’s midweek game against Arsenal was also called off in the Premier League.

A host of leagues and competitions around Europe and further afield have postponed or cancelled matches, with LaLiga set for a two-week break at least.

The international break lies beyond, with some fixtures there also already cancelled, meaning it could be up to a month for many sides without games.
