A young man who has a rare medical condition which means he can only eat chicken nuggets has been given a year's supply.
John Morgan struggles to eat certain types of food due to muscle-wasting condition Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The 21-year-old is able to eat Asda own-brand chicken nuggets and replacement meal drinks, Wales Online reported.
The Cardiff man's mum Sharon has been unable to find any of the battered meat goods however, due to coronavirus related stockpiling.
Sharon, from Ely, said: "That's all he can eat. He has Ensure [a replacement meal drink] to keep him going but he will lose weight when he's not able to eat.
"He loves food - he loves burgers, sausages, McDonald's - but he can't eat them as he chokes. We had the paramedic here about six months ago to help us as he choked on his food, he had it stuck in his throat.
"He has a bag of them a day [nuggets], nine in the morning and nine in the evening."
She added: "I don't know what it is, all the other products have the same chicken, there's chicken strips and chunks but the ones in batter seem to be bought the most because they're so popular.
"We have to go get them when we can find them and when they deliver them to the supermarket because they are scarce anyway.
"Everyone has bought them up recently. Everyone is stockpiling."
Sharon took to Facebook to share a photo of the desired nuggets and to call on anyone with a supply to help.
"If anyone can help me please John has an eating problem and can only eat these from Asda. It's all he can tolerate. I can't get any and John is going to starve otherwise," she wrote.
And now her family, who help John to collect thousands of items of emergency service memorabilia from all over the world, have been offered a year's supply of the chicken nuggets from Asda.
John's dad Paul Morgan said: "We have some amazing news regarding John and his chicken nuggets. Thank you so much to Asda they have donated one year's supply to John absolutely free of charge.
"Thank you so much to everyone who shared the post, donated packets, you have made this all happen.
Sharon said: "It's just overwhelming. I asked how I could set up payments and they just said 'no, it's for John'."
