Coronavirus: Love Island's Iain Stirling shares his top tip for self-isolation

Iain Stirling has shown how to tackle the hours of self-isolation to come as the coronavirus pandemic sweeps the globe.

The 32-year-old comedian, who is the acerbic voiceover talent on ITV2's Love Island, took to Instagram to show what he and girlfriend Laura Whitmore, who hosted the winter Love Island series, have done to make self-isolation not so much of a chore.

With the country heading for lockdown as social distancing is encouraged and pubs are effectively a no-go area, Iain said they decided to have a date night at home.

The happy couple decided to put on their glad rags before having a romantic dinner, before taking in some live comedy and then finishing the date with a 'cinema experience'.

They even had former One Direction star Niall Horan on hand for "post dinner entertainment" to make the evening complete.

Sharing pics of their date night, Iain wrote: "Tonight Laura and I got dressed up and had a date night.

"I took her to the newest hotspot in town - bar 'bedroom'. We then had dinner at 'kitchen' before taking in some live music and comedy at 'instagram'.

"If you feel like you’re going a bit mad make your home a night out, it’s the most fun I’ve had in ages!

"Hope you’re all well troops x"

Iain, along with 34-year-old Laura, were seen enjoying the acoustic sounds of Niall Horan, who was playing a few of his songs for fans on his Instagram page.

They then took in the comedic talents of stand-up Paul Currie while enjoying cocktails before settling down on the sofa for a film, to finish their 'perfect night in' with Iain writing on Instagram: "And then we end date night with a trip to the cinema."

With the prospect of more time being spent in our own homes, Iain believes that 'in house' date nights could be a way of ensuring that the feeling of going stir crazy doesn't get a grip.
