Dozens of Britons have been released from quarantine two weeks after they were brought back to the UK from coronavrius epicentre Wuhan.
The 83 people evacuated from the Chinese city last month were taken to Arrow Park Hospital in Wirral where they spent a fortnight being closely monitored by experts in an NHS staff accommodation block.
The group will now leave the Merseyside base after they all tested negative for the virus.
Their release comes after the ninth UK coronavirus case was confirmed on Wednesday night in London - the first in the capital.
The patient is now being treated at a specialist NHS centre at Guy's and St Thomas' in London.
England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty, said that the patient did contract the virus in China.
Kharn Lambert, one of the quarantined patients at Arrowe Park Hospital in Merseyside, told the PA news agency ahead of the forthcoming release: "I'm ecstatic and I'm so happy that everyone has come back with negative test results."
Those quarantined in the hospital were given fully-furnished rooms, food, and laundry facilities.
Kitchens were also available and families being kept together were given games consoles, toys and cots.
The number of deaths from the virus in China has now surpassed 1,350 – up from about 1,100 – as senior figures in Hubei province were dismissed amid criticism over the handling of the outbreak.
