Coronavirus lockdown restrictions survey: Tell us what you think about Scotland's new 'rule of six'

The number of daily cases of coronavirus are continuing to rise in Scotland, resulting in Nicola Sturgeon announcing that certain coronavirus restrictions will be tightened.

Last week, both Glasgow and Lanarkshire had a number of social restrictions reimposed on the area after a soar in the number of new cases coming from indoor gatherings.

However, despite not being in a localised lockdown, Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland will also see a series of new rules put into place from Monday (14 September) to curb a second spike.

The new changes mean that six people from two households will be allowed to meet up both indoors and outdoors - including in homes, gardens, pubs and restaurants.

Previously, people could meet in groups of up to eight from three households indoors and 15 from five households outdoors.

However, the new rules on social gatherings do not apply to children under the age of 12.

Nicola Sturgeon said there would be limited exceptions to the rules for organised sports, places of worship and wedding and funeral services - which will be capped at 20 guests.

The changes also mean it is mandatory for diners to wear a face covering in pubs and restaurants while moving around.

But do you think the rules have been made clear enough by the Scottish Government? Do you think that the restrictions came too late?

Edinburgh Live is asking readers to share their thoughts on the restrictions on gatherings imposed on Scotland.
