Coronavirus updates: as it happened, Monday, March 30, 2020

The government has reduced public gatherings to no more than two people, as measures to limit social interactions get still tougher.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison also announced that the states and territories will impose a moratorium on evictions for commercial and residential tenants for the next six months.

Playgrounds, outside gyms and skate parks will be closed.

Everyone aged 70 or older should now self-isolate, Mr Morrison said, describing this as "strong advice", rather than a new rule that would be enforced by fines.

In the ACT, authorities are still trying to find out how two people in Canberra got coronavirus, but say it is too early to determine if it was community transmission.

Six new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the ACT on Sunday, bringing the territory's total to 77 cases. The new cases were four men and two women, aged between 19 and 82.
