Coronavirus: Little Mix's summer tour cancelled to protect health of 'fans and crew'

Pop group Little Mix have cancelled their upcoming summer tour due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The band axed the trek today, declaring the health and safety of their fans and crew is their top priority.

The singers announced the news in a statement posted on Twitter, explaining: "We are so sad to announce that following the latest government advice, we have to cancel our upcoming summer tour.

"The health and safety of all our fans and crew is always our number one priority.

"Please look out for an email from your ticketing agent shortly.

"Please only contact them if you have not received an email by 5th May. Please stay safe and stay home, lots of love the girls x."

The tour had been due to kick off in June with Little Mix  playing stadiums across the country.

They had also been booked to perform in London's Hyde Park on July 4.

Other dates axed include shows in Cardiff, Hull and Aberdeen.

The tour had been slated to run through July and into August.

Fans have been told to wait for an email from their ticketing agency with instructions to get refunds.
