Australia is likely to record its 6000th case of coronavirus today, despite promising signs on infection rates.
While new cases of coronavirus are slowing in Australia, authorities fear that could lead to complacency that puts the nation at risk.
The government has revealed the modelling that explains the increasingly strict measures the government has taken to limit the spread of the virus.
As at 3pm yesterday, 5908 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Australia, including 45 deaths.
Over the past week, there has been an average of 193 new cases reported each day. Of the newly reported cases, the majority have been from NSW, followed by Vic and QLD.
