Another seven people have tested positive for coronavirus in Ayrshire and Arran during the last 24 hours.

The Scottish Government's confirmation means that the total number of confirmed people with the deadly virus in the region has risen to 41.

It comes as the number of fatalities from the disease in Scotland rose by two to 16 overnight.

A total of 584 people have now tested positive in Scotland - a daily rise of 85.

The latest figures comes after the public were last night warned they must stay indoors or face a fine as the battle against coronavirus ramped up another level. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said all shops apart from food stores and chemists must close immediately.
