Coronavirus latest figures for Northern Ireland broken down by council area

The Department of Health have today published the latest figures relating to Coronavirus in Northern Ireland.

Sadly, today's report indicates a further six people have passed away due to Covid-19 bringing the death toll here to 482.

When broken down by age group, 318 of those people who died were aged 80 and over, 142 were aged 60-79, 20 people were aged 40-59, while one person, NI's youngest victim was aged between 20-39.

To date, 147 have passed away in Belfast due to Covid-19 while Fermanagh and Omagh have the lowest number of fatalities (10).

At present, 651 patients are in 19 hospitals across NI being treated for Coronavirus. 17 patients are currently in ICU with confirmed or suspected Covid-19.

There are currently 71 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in care homes in NI with a further 33 suspected cases also reported.

A further 16 people have also tested positive for the virus here in the last 24 hours, with an additional 659 people tested in that timeframe.

An additional 341 samples have also been taken from the National Testing Centres across NI.

Belfast remains the area with the highest number of confirmed positive cases (1,283) while Fermanagh and Omagh again remains the area with the fewest (78).

Northern Ireland has recorded 4,401 positive cases of Covid-19 to date.
