Coronavirus latest: Covid-19 suppressed in all but three West Dunbartonshire neighbourhoods

Covid-19 is classed as suppressed in all but three West Dunbartonshire neighbourhoods.

Just 20 positive cases have been recorded in the seven days to April 29 according to the latest Public Health Scotland figures, with only three localities reporting three or more cases over the seven day period.

Five cases were recorded in Dalmuir giving it a rate of 91.9 cases per 100,000, with three a piece recorded in Whitecrook and Kilpatrick - giving the areas rates of 77.4 cases per 100,000 and 61.8 per 100,000 respectively.

Across the area the picture looks incredibly positive, with rates dropping from 28.6 cases per 100,000 to 22.5 over the past week.

This remains fractionally above the Scottish average of 21.9 cases per 100,000, however test positivity sits at just 0.9 percent, well below the five percent that the WHO uses to classify the virus as being under control.

West Dunbartonshire is set to join the rest of the country in the biggest relaxation of restrictions yet on May 17 when the whole country is expected to move into level two measures - allowing residents to meet inside a private home for the first time since September.
