Coronavirus latest cases in Northern Ireland broken down by council area

One person has sadly passed away in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours due to Covid-19, the Department of Health has said.

The latest fatality was recorded in the Ards and North Down district. To date 348 people aged 80 and over in NI have died after contracting Covid-19, 150 people were aged 60-79, 22 were aged 40-59 and one fatality was aged 20-39.

According to the report, 528 inpatients are currently in 19 hospital sites across NI with confirmed or suspected Coronavirus. That's a decrease of 30 inpatients since yesterday.

93 of those inpatients have been confirmed as having the virus, whilst the remaining 435 are suspected of having the illness.

Seven people here remain in ICU with confirmed or suspected Covid-19.

A further 13 people have also tested positive here for the illness with 849 individuals tested in the last 24 hours.

In addition to that, 505 samples have also been gathered at National Testing Centres across the country.

The latest 13 positive cases have been recorded in: Ards and North Down (4), Belfast (2), Causeway Coast and Glens (4), Lisburn and Castlereagh (1) and Mid Ulster (2).

To date Northern Ireland has recorded 4,709 cases of Coronavirus with the virus claiming the lives of 522 people.
