Coronavirus latest: Bristol now has 333 positive cases

Bristol now has 333 confirmed coronavirus cases following a rise of 29 in just one day.

The latest figures by Public Health England also revealed South Gloucestershire has 220 cases after a spike of 19.

Data from 9am Monday (April 13) shows a further three people were infected with the deadly virus in North Somerset, bringing the district's total to 115.

It's likely the real figure is in the thousands however because the government is currently only testing certain patients and some NHS workers.

Covid-19-related deaths climbed to 11,344 today (Monday) after 697 more patients died in just one day.

The NHS reported 667 new deaths in hospitals in England on Monday, while Wales recorded 15, Scotland nine and Northern Ireland six.

Figures reveal a total of 92 people have lost their lives in hospitals in the Bristol area after contracting coronavirus.

And police in Bristol have urged the public to report apparent breaches of the lockdown online after an ‘extremely high volume’ of calls to the police’s special ‘hotline’.

Halfway through Easter Saturday the police urged members of the public to go online first to report people gathering in groups, having parties or not adhering to the coronavirus lockdown guidelines.
