Coronavirus latest as Revenue to push back Local Property Tax due date

Revenue have announced that they're pushing back the date that Local Property Tax is due across Ireland.

The LPT was due to be paid next week on March 21, but that date has now been pushed back to May 21.

Those who had planned to make a payment by direct debit do not need to take any action, as the payment date will be automatically changed.

In a statement, Revenue said: "Today, Revenue issued key guidance to property owners who are due to pay Local Property Tax (LPT) on 21 March 2020.

"For property owners who opted to pay their LPT for 2020 by Annual Debit Instruction or Single Debit Authority payment, the deduction date will change from 21 March 2020 to 21 May 2020.

"Property owners who have opted to make a payment by Annual Debit Instruction or Single Debit Authority do not need to advise Revenue or take any action. The payment date will be changed automatically to 21 May 2020."
