Coronavirus latest as 3 deaths and 302 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Ireland

Officials have announced a further three deaths from coronavirus in Ireland.

One of the deaths is a person in the north-west of the country while the other two are females in the east.

A further 302 cases of the deadly bug have also been confirmed, bringing the total number of cases to 2,121.

The death toll from the virus now stands at 22 in the Republic of Ireland.

Earlier today the Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland announced a further three patients had died from COVID-19.

It brings the total number of deaths in the region to 13, with a total of 275 confirmed cases.

The HSE said it is now working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.

The National Public Health Emergency Team will hold a press conference at 8:30pm this evening
