Coronavirus: Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus beg fans to stay at home

Lady Gaga , Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus have begged fans to stay at home in a bid to beat the coronavirus pandemic.

The superstar singers all took to social media to issue desperate pleas to their followers to follow guidelines and not endanger themselves or others.

The killer bug outbreak has forced a number of countries to issue lockdowns while others are expected to clampdown in the coming days.

Despite that, many people have still been going out to bars and clubs - leaving the singers fuming.

Swift, 30, told her followers she was "concerned" not enough people were following the guidance.

She said: "I love you so much and need to express my concern that things aren’t being taken seriously enough right now.

“I’m seeing lots of get-togethers and hangs and parties still happening.

"This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can and don’t assume that because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this.

“It’s a really scary time, but we need to make sacrifices right now.”

Gaga, 33, posted a photo of herself in her home with her dogs saying: "It’s not the easiest for everyone right now but the kindest/healthiest thing we can do is self-quarantine and not hang out with people over 65 and in large groups."

And hitting out at panic buyers, Miley Cyrus told her 105 million followers: "Be thoughtful. Respectful. Compassionate. HUMAN. while preparing for social distancing....

"NO ONE needs every soup in the store, The more we hoard the more expensive and sparse necessities will become, leaving many without essentials.

"This is a great time to practice restraint... it’s incredibly difficult to make smart decisions while panicking , but think twice before following the fear and being inconsiderate.

"There is enough to go around if we take care of one another. This is a beautiful time to LEAD!"

The pleas come as the pandemic is predicted to get worse in Europe and the United States.

So far, 35 people have died in the UK from the virus with experts warning the peak for infections is expected to come at the beginning of summer.
