A woman and three of her sons all died from coronavirus within 10 days of each other.
Antoinette Franklin, 86, from New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away with her sons Herman Franklin Junior, 71, Anthony Franklin Senior, 58, and Timothy Franklin, 61, between March 20 and 30.
All of the deceased tested positive for coronavirus, New Orleans Coroner's Office said.
Anthony Franklin Junior, Antoinette's grandson, said: "My uncle passed, my grandmother passed, my dad passed, then my other uncle passed. It's horrific."
Dad-of-eight Herman died on March 20, while Anthony passed on March 26 and Timothy lost his life on March 30.

Anthony Franklin Senior's wife Jacqueline Franklin told WDSU : "I want the world to know if it happened to the Franklin family it could happen to any family.
"Let's take this serious. My children have to bury their father, their precious grandmother and their uncles."
The Franklins were African-Americans and their deaths came after statistics revealed that black people accounted for 70 per cent of coronavirus fatalities in Louisiana, despite only making up around a third of the population.
Governor of Louisiana John Bel Edwards is trying to tackle the racial disparity in deaths.
The toll of coronavirus on New Orleans has been greater than in other cities, with the death rate around twice that of New York.
Officials say this is because of the city's high levels of obesity and related health issues such as diabetes and hypertension.
The hotspot has seen 16,284 Covid-19 cases and 582 deaths.
The US has now suffered nearly 13,000 deaths, with more than 1,800 recorded yesterday.
Overall the country has over 398,000 cases of Covid-19, more than anywhere else in the world.
