Coronavirus: Kellie Harrington blasts 'gobshites' queuing for fish and chips in Howth amid COVID-19 pandemic

Kellie Harrington has blasted the 'gobshites' who queued down an Irish street on Sunday for fish and chips.

The top amateur boxer is self-isolating after returning to Ireland from the 2020 Olympic qualifiers in London last week.

She told Off The Ball AM: "I don't have the virus, but I'm not going out risking it regardless."

Harrington posted a tweet on Sunday evening, hitting out at people queueing in Howth for a fish and chip shop after pictures went viral on social media.

She said on Twitter: "If you were one of the muppets standing in the Q in Howth for fish and chips today you deserve to be slapped repeatedly. Absolute tools. Wud have acc loving to go by and mill ye all out of it with eggs or something."

Expanding on the tweet, she added: "I don't understand it. We haven't run out of food or anything. Why are they doing that? Why are are they queuing up for fish and chips? They are just absolute idiots.

"It's probably just some hard-man syndrome. Gobshites.

"It is just crazy that there are nurses and doctors out there putting their own lives at risk and then these idiots are doing stupid things like that.

"We're being asked to be safe and to be cautious, to just stay in your house."
