Coronavirus: Kate Garraway forced to explain croaky voice as GMB fans fear she has bug

Kate Garraway was forced to address concerns for her health on Good Morning Britain on Friday, amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The UK alone has soared past 3,000 cases of COVID-19, with 144 deaths.

As Kate spoke alongside with co-host Ben Shephard on the latest visit to the ITV studio, her voice sounded a little raspy.

During the show, Kate told Ben and those in the studio that she'd been receiving messages asking if she was under the weather.

Viewers noticed the former I'm A Celebrity star appeared to have a sore throat, with many questioning if she was unwell.

But Kate was quick to deny she had coronavirus symptoms, or the virus at all.

Responding to the fan concern online, she explained the reason behind her croaky voice.

She said on GMB that while people were worried about her unusual tones, they had nothing to worry about as there was a reasonable explanation.

Kate confirmed from all the talking and reporting she was losing her voice slightly.

Ben appeared to mock this, asking her if she was sure about that.

But Kate again reassured those watching at home, insisting she was totally fine.

She and Ben sat further apart than usual as to isolate from one another, while neither were displaying symtoms.

Viewers had taken to Twitter over their observation, amid the show remaining on air.

One viewer tweeted: "Kate has a croaky voice so could be a virus."

Others didn't appear to notice, as they watched the latest news on the coronavirus pandemic.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
