Coronavirus Ireland: Woman who spat at Dublin Garda and warned she was 'awaiting COVID-19 test' charged

A person who spat at a Dublin Garda and warned she was "awaiting a COVID-19 test" has been charged.

The vile woman in her 30s was arrested at St Attracta Road in Cabra around 6:20pm on Tuesday.

She approached a marked Garda car and began banging on it and shouting before carrying out the disgusting act when one of the officers stepped out of the vehicle.

The woman was arrested at the scene and detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station before being charged in connection with the incident.

She will appear at Dublin District Court on Wednesday morning.

A garda spokesman said: "The incident occurred when a woman approached a marked car and began banging on it and shouting.

"When a Garda member exited, the woman spat at the Garda member and advised she was awaiting test results for Coronavirus. She has since been charged in connection with the public order and assault incident."
