Coronavirus Ireland update: Breakdown of latest Covid-19 cases by county

There are now 683 cases of coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland, with Dublin by far the most affected county.

A total of 126 new patients were confirmed by the Department of Health at a press conference this evening.

And according to the latest available notified cases (438), 140 people have been hospitalised, while 12 have been admitted to the ICU.

Three people have tragically passed away.

Of the 438 infected, 225 were in the capital, 66 were in Cork, while Limerick and Wicklow had 15 cases each.

Monaghan remains the only county without an Covid-19 cases.

Chief medical officer Dr Tony Holohan said: "Our hope would be that we manage to see some of the impact of what we think is a high level of compliance in the population with the social distancing measures."

Nine new Covid-19 cases were announced in Northern Ireland today.

The total number of cases on the island of Ireland stands at 769.
