Coronavirus Ireland: Two deaths and 14 additional cases of COVID-19 confirmed


A further two people have sadly died from coronavirus in Ireland, health chiefs confirmed this evening.

An additional 14 cases have also been announced, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 25,683.

The death toll from the deadly bug now stands at 1,748.

The National Public Health Emergency Team met yesterday and will meet again tomorrow to review Ireland’s ongoing response and preparedness to COVID-19.

Dr. Ronan Glynn, Acting Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, said: “We are at a sensitive stage in the pandemic - this requires caution and collective effort to hold firm and keep the virus suppressed in the community. Continue to follow public health advice.”
