Coronavirus Ireland: Three changes to Aldi stores from March 20 amid Covid-19 outbreak

Shoppers in Aldi will find three small changes in supermarkets from today as coronavirus measures are put in place.

The first change will be altered opening hours as the stores across the country scale back to 9am to 8pm.

Bosses have said that this is to help keep the store stocked and to give workers who have been flat-out for the past weeks a break.

An Aldi spokesperson said: "Starting Friday our stores across the country will open from 9am to 8pm Monday to Sunday.

"This is slightly shorter than usual to help our colleagues who have been working tirelessly and to ensure our stores are at their best every day."

Elderly shopping hours will now also be in place from 11am to 1pm every day with shoppers asked to be considerate of this.

And finally the stores across the country will now be putting stickers and signs in place to encourage social distancing.

A spokesperson added: "Customers will begin seeing posters in store and lines on the floor near till areas, giving customers further reassurance during their shopping trip."
