The 2km exercise limit has been extended to 5km starting Tuesday, it was announced this evening.
The news comes as Leo Varadkar announced that the lockdown restrictions have been extended until May 18.
But there were some easing of restrictions announced as people will be able to travel up to 5km from their homes from exercise.
Additionally people who are cocooning will be able to go for a walk or drive 5km from their homes as long as they avoid contact with people.
