Coronavirus Ireland: Saoirse Ronan issues heartfelt plea to support staff at Irish hospital

Irish star Saoirse Ronan has put out a heartfelt plea in support of the brave staff at an Irish hospital fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Carlow native has urged the public to help out workers at St James’s Hospital in Dublin as the coronavirus crisis continues to hinder the health sector.

The Little Women actor asked the public to donate to the “superhero” medical team fighting at the frontline of the crisis.

Taking to social media the Oscar nominated actress said: “Hello everyone, this is Saoirse Ronan.

“This is just a quick message to say that we have some real life superheroes working in our hospitals at home right now, who are going above and beyond to keep us safe and to keep us healthy during the COVID-19 crisis.

“At St. James’s Hospital, the doctors, the nurses, the admin staff, the security staff, the catering staff, they’re all working tirelessly for us.

"And if you can show your support to them by donating to their superhero appeal then that would be much appreciated.

“You can log on to  www.supportstjames.ie. I hope everyone’s okay.”

Last month Saoirse has been planning on paying a visit to Japan to promote Little Women.

But her plans were cut short when travel restrictions were implemented in the wake of the coronavirus crises.

The Irish star recently sold her plush home in Wicklow and divides her time between the US and the UK.
