Coronavirus Ireland: Rugby legend Alan Quinlan shocked by 'ludicrous' actions of some people during pandemic

Ireland rugby legend Alan Quinlan was left shocked and frustrated over the weekend after seeing three men share the one drink, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

TV pundit Quinlan has hit out at those not following government advice during the crisis, pointing out a 'ludicrous' McDonalds story as an example.

Despite social distancing advice, the former Munster ace witnesses three men sharing just one drink while sitting face-to-face in Rathmines, Dublin.

"The most important thing now is for people to do the right thing," Quinlan told Off The Ball AM this morning.

"It isn't very complicated trying to understand that you should keep your distance and stuff like that."

Quinlan added: "It is frustrating me a bit. I was down in Rathmines yesterday and popped into McDonald's.

"I kid you not, there were three guys probably in their early 30s outside the door of McDonald's with some food and they were sharing the one drink.

"I'm not joking you. Talk about ludicrous actions in these circumstances - sharing one drink! There were three other adults there staring face-to-face chatting with each other.

"Some people are just not doing what needs to be done."

The fast food chain closes its doors this evening and Quinlan reckons that the government will be forced to implement tighter restrictions if the public don't adhere to advice.

"I think there will be more restrictions brought in," headded.

"I think going out to parks for walks, as long as you keep moving and keep your distance from people its fine, but some people aren't adhering to that."
