A Covid-19 outbreak is feared at a Dublin care home after a worker and an elderly resident reportedly contracted the virus.
An investigation has been launched into the outbreak with the care home in lockdown since Monday according to reports.
As well as the one infected worker and one female resident, it is understood that four other workers are self-isolating.
The infected worker was tested for the virus on Wednesday last and the result came back positive on Saturday, The Irish Independent reports.
It comes just hours after it was revealed that one of Dublin's most popular pubs will shut its doors until further notice after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19, Dublin Live reports.
Slattery's D4 in Beggars Bush confirmed that a part-time staff member had contracted the disease.
The team at Slattery's D4 said they are "disappointed" they have to close after working hard to ensure the correct protocols are in place, but that the safety of its customers and staff is priority.
In a statement, the pub said: "Slattery’s Pub D4 will be closed today and until further notice, due to a part-time staff member testing positive for Covid-19.
"As a precaution, all of our staff members are being tested and we are taking a proactive approach to ensure that staff follow self-isolation and contact tracing protocols.
"Although we are disappointed to close after all of our hard work ensuring that the correct systems and protocols were in place to open safely on the 29th of June, this is a small sacrifice to maintain the health and safety of our valued customers.
"We take our responsibility within the community very seriously and customer safety is our top priority.
"All persons who need to be notified have been by the HSE Contact Tracing System, and we are taking all necessary steps to ensure a safe and speedy reopening. We appreciate your understanding at this difficult time and look forward to welcoming you all back as soon as it is safe to do so."
