Coronavirus Ireland: Nine changes to Lidl stores you will notice amid Covid-19 crisis

Shops and supermarkets all over the country are having to make changes as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Lidl, Aldi, Tesco, Supervalu and all main stores have made alterations to opening hours and operations which you can read in full here.

One of the stores which has made a considerable amount of changes is Lidl - which has outlined all the differences you will now find in store, some you wouldn't even notice.

They range from opening hours differences to extra security - here's all you need to know about the supermarket chain.

A spokesperson for Lidl said: "We’ve been implementing measures to make shopping as safe as possible for our customers and our store teams. Here are just a few of the new things you’ll see in store."

Nine changes to Lidl stores

- Hand sanitiser stations at the entrance to all shops.

- Social distancing signage throughout the store.

- Regular announcements over the intercom to remind students.

- Additional security in-store to stop overcrowding and encourage social distancing.

- Trolley and basket handle sanitation stations.

- Elderly priority shopping every day from 9am to 11am.

- All trolleys and baskets sprayed with STERI-7.

- Fresh bakery items now bagged.

- Perspex till guards at the checkout.
