Three Dublin hospitals are collectively treating over 300 of Ireland's coronavirus cases, it has emerged.
Beaumont Hospital has 132 patients with Covid-19, St James's Hospital has 95 and the Mater has 84 cases.
These figures, reported by RTE, relate to 858 hospitalised cases which were recorded as of Wednesday afternoon.
There are a further 74 patients at St Vincent’s University Hospital, 58 at Connolly, and 34 at both Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda and Cavan General.
It's also reported that a further 476 people have been hospitalised with suspected Covid-19 and are awaiting test results.
Limerick University Hospital is the worst-hit hospital in this regard with 52 suspected cases of the infection.
There are 43 in St Vincent's waiting for a test, 39 in the Mater, while Mayo University Hospital has 37 suspected patients of the virus.
The figures obtained by the national broadcaster show that there are 2,254 general beds vacant in public hospitals.
RTE has also reported there are 133 vacant critical care beds in public hospitals and in some private hospitals listed.
In terms of people receiving critical care, there are 19 in St James’s, 16 in Beaumont and 15 in the Mater.
These relate to 146 patients in ICU, plus a further 21 suspected cases in these units, recorded as of Wednesday.
