The coronavirus has claimed six more lives in the Republic of Ireland.
It comes as a further five confirmed cases have been recorded by the Department of Health.
There have now been a total of 1,726 deaths linked to the bug in the Republic.
The recent rise in positive cases has brought the total number of infections to 25,396.
Speaking this Wednesday evening, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan: “Through our collective action, we have moved in the right direction in our fight against widespread community transmission of Covid-19.
"As we go forward, the behaviour and progression of this disease is in all of our hands."
He added: "Every single one of us today has the ability to reduce the impact the virus might have on our most vulnerable and those at risk.
"You can do this by keeping a physical distance from others or wearing a face covering when in busy public places like shops and public transport, and by continuing to keep your number of daily contacts as low as possible."
The National Public Health Emergency Team has said that 92% of the country's cases have fully recovered as of Sunday night.
Earlier on Wednesday, Northern Ireland reported one further Covid-19 related death.
According to their most recent dashboard update, there have been two further confirmed cases of the virus in the past day.
The death toll there stands now stands at 547 and the total number of confirmed cases in the North has risen to 4,873.
