Irish people are set to miss out on a host of events over the next few weeks as sweeping new restrictions to tackle coronavirus come into effect.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar today announced that all schools and colleges and public facilities would be closed from tomorrow until March 29.
Varadkar also announced that all indoor mass gatherings of more than 100 people and outdoor gatherings of over 500 people should be cancelled.
Following the announcement promoter MCD released a statement saying: "Following today’s Irish Government directive to cancel all events of over 100 capacity (indoor) and 500 capacity (outdoor) due to take place between now and 29 March MCD Productions has now postponed all affected shows."
It adds: "MCD Productions is currently working with artists and venues to reschedule all dates.

"Original tickets purchased for all affected events will remain valid for rescheduled dates which will be notified to patrons on confirmation.
"MCD Productions wish to thank all our customers and staff for their continued co-operation and understanding during this unprecedented time in the interests of health and welfare of all."

Meanwhile the Naitonal Concert Hall earlier announced it will close until March 29.
Their statement read: “Following the announcement this morning by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar TD , the National Concert Hall will close from 6pm this evening, 12 March through to midnight, Sunday 29 March inclusive.
“All events scheduled to take place during this time are now cancelled. Customers will be refunded in due course. All offsite events will also be cancelled.
“The health and wellbeing of our customers, musicians and staff is of paramount importance to the National Concert Hall.
“Please check for updates on NCH social media channels and on nch.ie .”
The Gaeity Theatre announced their closure, saying the following performances are cancelled:
• The Lieutenant of Inishmore – Performances from 12th March at 7:30pm through to 14th March at 7:30pm
• The Mai – Performances from 24th March through to 28th March
All purchases made by Phone or Internet will be refunded automatically by Ticketmaster. Please allow 5-10 working days for the money to reappear in your account.
If it has not appeared within this time, please contact Ticketmaster by submitting a request via https://help.ticketmaster.ie/ .
If you purchased via Box Office or an Outlet refunds will be available from point of sale. We would ask that you refrain from seeking these in person refunds until March 29th.
