Coronavirus Ireland map shows where the 223 confirmed cases of COVID-19 are

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland has now grown to 223.

A further 54 were announced on Monday night with figures in confirming a total of 62 cases of COVID-19 in Northern Ireland on Tuesday.

Above, we break down the areas where all confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Ireland.

Here are the details of cases confirmed by the Department of Health on Monday:

- 30 of the new confirmed cases are male and 24 are female.

- 41 are associated with the east of the country bringing the regions total to 102

- 11 are associated with the south of the country bringing the regions total to 48

- 2 are associated with the north-west region of the country bringing its total to 5

- None were recorded in the west so its total stays at 21

- There are currently 47 cases of COVID-19 in unknown locations across the country

- 2 people have now died in Ireland after catching the virus

On St Patrick's Day Dublin city was quiet as most shops were closed and bars and nightclubs were shut down.

People across Ireland participated in 'virtual parades' to post to social media.

Kids, dressed in festive outfits, marched around their homes singing and celebrating Ireland's patron saint.

A staggering 340,000 people are forecasted to be out of work by the end of the week due to Covid-19.

Measures put in place in a bid to battle the deadly coronavirus have already led to the loss of an estimated 140,000 roles, with another 200,000 expected this week.

And an Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said he believes we will see up to 15,000 cases of coronavirus in Ireland by the end of the month.
