Leo Varadkar has reportedly rejoined the medical register to help out during the coronavirus crisis.
The Taoiseach, who worked as a doctor for seven years, will work one day a week for the HSE - the Irish Times reports.
They report the Fine Gael leader rejoined the register in March and will work a day a week in a role that suits his qualifications.
He is expected to help out in a phone role and will assess patients over the phone - this is after a HSE recruitment drive which started last month.
This comes after the Taoiseach's most recent address where he said the country was readying for the worst.
He also insisted Ireland is prepared for the coronavirus surge - but said it hasn't come yet.
The Taoiseach said there are 1,200 ICU beds available for Covid-19 patients and that there is 2,000 empty beds across Irish hospitals.
He said we have seen “some real progress in flattering the curve.
“So we’re very grateful to the Irish public for cooperation with quarantine.”
He also followed up on Dr Tony Holohan's comments urging the public to continue to seek treatment for non- coronavirus related medical issues.
