Lunchtime listeners to Newstalk were shocked to hear the news that presenter Dr Ciara Kelly has been diagnosed with coronavirus.
The anchor tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend and told listeners during her show on Wednesday afternoon stating that she had "something personal" to tell them.
The 48-year-old had been suffering from flu-like symptoms over the past few days before it was confirmed that she had contracted the virus.
She is continuing to broadcast her Newstalk show from her house.
