There have been four further COVID-19 related deaths confirmed by NPHET today.
Of the deaths notified today 1 occurred in January, 1 occurred in February and 2 occurred in May.
There has been a total of 4,941 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
While 425 more cases of the coronavirus have been announced in Ireland.
There is now a total of 254,870 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.
Of the cases notified today:
- 202 are men / 223 are women
- 78% are under 45 years of age
- 4% are over 65
- The median age is 29 years old
As of May 11, 2021, 1,922,913 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland:
- 1,408,105 people have received their first dose
- 514,808 people have received their second dose
The latest numbers were given at a briefing at the Department of Health this afternoon.
It comes as COVID testing referrals have been impacted by the HSE cyber attack which has taken all of its systems down.
Those in need of a test who are close contacts or symptomatic are being asked to contact their GP and then visit a walk in testing centre where they will be prioritised.
The HSE became aware of the attack at 4am this morning and were forced to shut all systems down.
The Rotunda Hospital has cancelled all outpatient appointments today while oncology and radiation services have been cancelled across the country.
And Anne O'Connor from the HSE has warned that if the threat continues into Monday then it will be a "very serious situation" where all services will be impacted.
This is because many hospitals will not even be able to access records for appointments or charts.
Anyone who has been affected today will be contacted by the HSE - but the problem will come when those who may be affected on Monday need to be contacted as the hospitals will not know who to contact.
