Coronavirus Ireland: Irish mammy weeps as family sing to her from front garden on Mother's Day in heartbreaking video

Here is the heart-wrenching moment a family serenaded their mum from her front garden for Mother's Day.

The footage was filmed in Moyross, Co Limerick as the country attempts to battle the killer coronavirus.

In scenes that were repeated up and down the country on Sunday, the Neill family refused to let the Covid-19 pandemic stop the celebrations.

Instead they resolved to "bring Mother's Day to you" - while still observing strict social distancing.

In the emotional clip they hand their mum a framed picture of their sister Claire, who sadly passed away last May.

It was mum Breeda's first Mother's Day since the tragic death, and sisters Mary, Paula, Colleen, Antoinette, Martina and Ciara were determined to make it one to remember.

The sisters go on to belt out Stevie Wonder's classic ballad I Just Called to Say I Love You.

Breeda can't hold back her tears as her daughters paid her a visit she will never forget.

Daughter Ciara Neill told the Irish Daily Mirror: "The response we have had to the video is amazing.

"The photo we give her is of our sister Claire who passed away last May. It's our mam's first Mother's Day without her we had to make it special."

And the video provoked a huge reaction on social media, being shared thousands of times in a matter of hours.

One viewer wrote: "I was in bits watching this", while another added: "This completely broke me... happy Mother’s Day."
