Coronavirus Ireland: Huge Dublin rave event tells people to 'bring bag of cans' to Stillorgan field despite COVID-19 restrictions

An event encouraging people to "bring a bag of cans" and take part in a rave in a south Dublin field has been organised on social media despite coronavirus restrictions.

The rave has been organised for May 2 on Marsham Court in Stillorgan and claims that there will be a "4 metre social distancing rule" implemented at all times.

If the event goes ahead, it will be held three days before the current May 5 end date of lockdown restrictions in Ireland.

The event, organised by "The Corona Society" is asking those interested in going to "spread the word" and invite friends to be in with a chance to win a six pack of Dutch Gold.

Already dozens of people have shown interest.

The description says: "You are all probably sick at this stage of staying indoors! Well on May 2nd we got your back, bring a bag of cans and come join us and blow off some steam to all the biggest tunes & floor fillers....who knows we might even see the return of the Halloween Bonfire.

"To be in accordance with Government ruling and the HSE , social distancing must be implemented at all times. To show how serious we are about this a 4 metre social distancing rule will be in place at all times. Also please respect our neighbours. Tickets are free and everyone within the 2Km Radius is welcome."
