Coronavirus Ireland: How to watch Taoiseach Leo Varadkar's live announcement on 'stricter new measures'

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and other Government Ministers are set to announce stricter new measures for the public amid the Covid-19 outbreak at 4pm.

The announcement from Government buildings will be streamed live on RTE News Now as well as the RTE social media channels.

Taoiseach is expected to go live at 4pm.

The briefing will take place outside Government buildings in Dublin where the Taoiseach and a number of Ministers will be set-up to speak to the nation.

What is expected to be announced?

The Taoiseach will be joined by Government colleagues to brief media on the latest Government actions in response to Covid-19.

The Government is expected to close all non-essential services from Wednesday amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

While it will not be a full-scale lockdown like the UK or other countries, many businesses will shut their doors from tomorrow.
