Coronavirus Ireland: Health Minister Stephen Donnelly to get tested for COVID-19 after reportedly feeling 'unwell'

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly is reportedly going to get tested for coronavirus.

It is reported that the Fianna Fail TD felt "unwell" this afternoon.

After speaking with the Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn, he was advised to contact his GP and arrange a test.

The Minister had been at this morning's press briefing and was scheduled to do a number more interviews this evening.

The Dáil has been shut down after the Minister for Health reported he may have Covid.

Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíll has adjourned the Dáil indefinitely as confusion reigns in Leinster House.

The Dáil chairman announced out of the blue that he was shutting down proceedings because the entire Cabinet is going into self-isolation as a precaution.

It is not known what the precautions or directions will be for the rest of the staff including journalists working in Leinster House today.

Mr Donnelly will be keeping himself out of commission until he gets the all-clear and his public duties will be taken over by his junior ministers.

This will include questions in the Dáil tonight.
