Coronavirus Ireland: Five key points from latest Covid-19 update as 21 more die and 390 new cases confirmed

The Department of Health has announced that 21 more people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours as confirmed cases surge towards 5,000.

In their Sunday evening release the national public health emergency team said there are now 158 COVID-19 related deaths in the Republic of Ireland while the confirmed cases figure has reached 4,994.

This announcement came on the same day the HSE said 20% of all PPE that was delivered from China was not fit for purpose.

While Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has rejoined the medical register to help out with this Covid-19 crisis.
