Coronavirus Ireland: Dublin health worker coughed on by gang of 20 teens in sick Covid-19 prank

A hardworking frontline health worker was coughed on by a gang of around 20 teenagers this week while she was out jogging.

The woman was running by the seafront in Clontarf after finishing night duty in a Dublin hospital when she was confronted by the group who were on bikes.

She tried to pass but the gang of teen thugs blocked her path and began to repeatedly cough on her as part of a sick ongoing coronavirus "prank", Dublin Live reports.

She told local Facebook group LoveClontarf that she wanted to highlight the stupidity and danger that the teens could possibly be causing to the public.

The post reads: "During her jog, a group of approximately 15 - 20 young boys on bikes were blocking the path.

"They refused to move out of people's way (including an elderly man).

"As the lady approached she asked them to move.

"They continued to block the path and ignored her.

"Quite unbelievably, the boys then followed her coughing towards her dramatically, thinking it is a funny joke."

Gardai have said that they are aware of these social media reports and have also come across similar incidents in the capital.

These incidents can amount to an offence and officers are urging anyone who experience this to report it to their nearest Garda station so that they can investigate matters further.
