Coronavirus Ireland: Dublin duo Brian Fenton and Eoin Murchan give blood as they urge public to donate during Covid-19 pandemic

Dublin duo Brian Fenton and Eoin Murchan have urged those who can to give blood during the coronavirus pandemic.

With the country in lockdown, blood supplies have taken a hit as blood donation clinics urge regular donors to make appointments if possible.

And with Dublin All-Ireland heroes Fenton and Murchan off the pitch during the crisis, the pair dropped into D'Olier Street clinic and donated blood this week.

"A big box ticked today," Fenton tweeted.

"Fantastic staff and system in D’Olier street.

"If you’re healthy and well and meet the criteria then please reach out to Giveblood.ie.

"Crazy times but we can do a lot to support our Healthcare heroes.”

Wing back Murchan, a first-time donor, scored a decisive goal just after half-time in Dublin's five-in-a-row triumph over Kerry last September.

Fenton, who works as a physio in Beaumount Hospital, has been in the Boys in Blue's engine room at midfield since bursting onto the scene back into 2015.
